Every year, hundreds of students visit the Aeroenergía Wind Farm in Tilarán, Guanacaste.
During these visits, young people learn how a wind energy farm works, as well as the importance clean and renewable resource energy production has for Costa Rica and the world.
All of Grupo Aeroenergía’s electricity generating plants have been certified as environmentally friendly (ISO 140001:2004).
Nowadays, Costa Rica generates approximately 92% of its electricity from clean sources, the highest rate in Central America. Thanks to this, the country avoids — to a high degree — pollution and high expenses for oil imports.
Costa Rica aims to produce all its energy from clean sources by 2021.
